Hello, I’m Emily, I am a Psychotherapist in training at the Metanoia Institute.
There are many reasons you might be seeking therapy. You may feel stuck without knowing why, or find yourself caught in patterns that don’t make sense. You might feel anxious, low, overwhelmed, or lost—and while parts of you may make sense, other parts remain unclear or hard to understand.Therapy gives space for you to tend to all the different parts of you, the parts that make sense, and the parts that don't. With time and the gentle care that therapy provides you will begin to understand yourself , and from that understanding, change becomes possible.
About Me
My path to becoming a therapist hasn’t been linear. I have been a baker, a theatre maker, a postie, and a children’s counsellor. My psychotherapy training means I can offer therapeutic work that creates real and meaningful change.
My approach is warm, relational, and grounded in anti-oppressive practice. I aim to create a space where you can show up fully — including the parts of yourself you might usually hide.
If you’re interested in working together or have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
Professional membership
I am a registered trainee member of UKCP and abide by their standards of ethics and professional conduct. I hold full professional liability insurance and engage in regular professional development and supervision.
What to Expect from Therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not sure what it’s going to be like. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you begin. In our sessions, we’ll talk about whatever feels important or present for you, at your pace.
Therapy offers a consistent, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, patterns, and experiences — without judgement. It’s a place to feel heard, to make sense of things, and to work through what’s been holding you back.
You don’t have to come with a clear goal — many people begin therapy simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right, or that they’d like to live in a different way. Together, we’ll find a way of working that suits you.
Sessions are £70.
Online sessions can be arranged on request.
Contact
Call, text, or email me to arrange a consultation. This can either be a free 15-minute phone call, or an in person session which I charge at half my standard fee. Both options are a good way to ask questions and see if I’m the right therapist for you.
