Hello, I'm Emily, a trainee integrative psychotherapist at the Metanoia Institute.
You may have many reasons for seeking therapy, and it might feel hard to know exactly what you need. You may feel stuck or find yourself caught in patterns that don’t seem to make sense. You might feel anxious, low, overwhelmed, or lost. Parts of your life may be working well whilst other parts remain unclear or hard to understand. Therapy offers the space to explore what is going on for you. In the supportive environment of the therapy room, we can start to make sense of the aspects of yourself you feel you have no understanding of or control over. My approach is collaborative, with the aim of creating meaningful, lasting change. Meaningful change can feel very scary. It can be challenging work and feel overwhelming at times, but with the right support it is possible, and brings with it a great sense of autonomy and freedom. How I Work
I am an integrative psychotherapist. That means I integrate different therapeutic approaches depending on what you need at each stage of therapy. We will work with one foot in the present and one in the past, thinking together about your current life and relationships while exploring how earlier experiences may still shape them today. My approach is warm and relational because I believe meaningful change happens through relationships. Together, we'll take time to understand your experience with curiosity and compassion. In my experience, lasting change emerges from developing a deeper understanding of yourself. I welcome clients of all genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, relationship styles, cultures, faiths and backgrounds. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and grounded in anti-oppressive practice.
I work with adults aged 18 and over.
If you’re interested in working together or have any questions, feel free to get in touch. What to Expect from Therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not sure what it’s going to be like. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you begin. In our sessions, we’ll talk about whatever feels important or present for you, at your pace.Therapy offers a consistent, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, patterns, and experiences — without judgement. It's a place to feel heard, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to work through what's been holding you back. You don’t have to come with a clear goal — many people begin therapy simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right, or that they’d like to live in a different way. Together, we’ll find a way of working that suits you.Sessions are £70. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly.
Online sessions can be arranged on request. Professional membership
I am a registered trainee member of UKCP and abide by their standards of ethics and professional conduct. I hold full professional liability insurance and engage in regular professional development and supervision.Contact
If you'd like to arrange an initial conversation, you're very welcome to get in touch by phone, text or email. I hold consultation sessions either as a free 15-minute phone call, or an in- person 50-minute session for £35. Both options are a good way to ask questions and see if I’m the right therapist for you.
